Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) was originally released in 2006, and after 13 years I have to say it holds a pretty strong candle. The graphics and combat are a little dated (13 years!) but mechanically speaking: this is probably one of the best ways to play Dungeons and Dragons on the PC. I got back into this because of Neverwinter, which started out ok but then it looked a lot like Star Trek with the 'buy the keys for the looooot boxes!' schtick. As a free to play, and not only a f2p but also one of the first and most fair where you can get everything through grinding, it is fantastic. Did I mention mechanics? Cause there be mechanics. How many DnD games have you played where 'blindness' actually makes you blind? Anyways, a number of the discord members (join the discord to get in on stuff like this) join me in my quest to be the best of Dragonborn bards.
