In 2009 Codemasters and Asobo Studio released the racing game with largest map in racing games history - 5,560 square miles (14,400 km2).
Codemasters now known well as Dirt and Grid series devs and Asobo Studio also worked on The Crew and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
In this video you can see longest race on one of the locations. Not the most spectacular view of the map, but I think well enough to feel the size of map.
As in The Crew there are no borders in locations and you can ride anywhere if physics of vehicles allow.
Except various cars, bikes, Quads / ATVs, there are Monster trucks and even Hovercraft.
