Full Hike Footage in 12 Hours (Beginning to End of Picture Canyon from Main Wash). To dispel myths and legends: performed sweep of Picture Canyon and route hiked by Kenny Veach in his original M Cave Hike upload. It took 6 hours and 33 minutes. Fear The Rock. Do not go down the first cliff thinking you’re out of the woods. If one makes the first drop there is a much steeper second drop. That crevice under the massive rock is not a cave. Camera does not do it justice with light and shadows but it is not a continuous cavern. Too many conspiracies with smoke, dust, light and shadow. Second Drop is harder than the first. I have gear and climbing helmet, ropes and clips, pads, etc. If anyone goes down the first drop inexperienced, they are gonna be in for a nasty surprise stuck between a rock and a hard place. No man’s land. Between the first and second drop: it is literally between a rock and a hard place. Don’t even think about it without head gear and experience. Don’t crack skull against rock or bone fracture limbs. You won’t get out if that happens. With every climb, with every hike, respect the rock.
