Have you ever wondered why Crash Bandicoot
doesn't have a neck… I mean seriously looking at the original creature… that has a neck….but again Crash doesn't!
Well, the answer is simple. It’s the same reason Mario has a cap and moustache… graphical limitations.
Crash has no neck so that they can slap his face on pretty much the top half of his body! This way the team can give him genuine facial animations and PlayStation 1 owners would be able to identify them easily with the limited hardware… Also, he’s orange because then he wont blend into the backgrounds as much aaaaaand that’s also why they dont have any lava levels.
