Traveling between Vulcan and Foose, Lord's party cross the New Elian Kingdom military zone and find what was hidden there, the Tower of Dawn, former mage guild of the Old Elian Kingdom.
They are lured inside, thinking it to be the WRC's HQ at first, but while ascending the tower, they find it occupied by the golden dragon Celestial who is screaming about a person named Yekaterina.
Seeing no choice but to put an end to her (Celestial's was later revealed to be a woman) misery, the party slay the dragon before exiting. However they involuntarily activate the second layer of defense of the tower, resurrecting the dragon and creating a mana black hole.
Having no other choice but to climb the tower again to stop it, they learn through the journal of a student that Celestial was driven mad by an oath she made to Yekaterina to protect the tower until she returns, an oath that remained unfulfilled for thousands of years as Yekaterina fell in battle during the war against Jiol.
Upon defeating Celestial again, the golem that lured them in give them the staff of Yekaterina, the key to deactivate the tower's defense system and permanently kill celestial. But instead, Lord uses the genes present on the staff to resurrect Yekaterina, allowing her to come back one month later to finally fulfill their promise and free the dragon from her task of guarding the tower.
While rewarding them, Yekaterina also mention an aerial area-of-effect weapon that was taken away.
