2Galaxian is an evolution of the Space Invaders genre. I have played Space Invaders, as well as games that came after Galaxian, like Galaga, but I have never played this game before.
Gameplay is pretty smooth for a PC that was released in 1981. The PC is emulated as a PCjr through dosbox, running at 7MHz.
