For the game behaviour module that I have just studied at University, I had to create a game where there was some form of AI and some form of physics. I chose to make a sailing game as it seemed like an interesting idea at the time. The AI component was the ship and how the ship rotated the sail, and the the physics component was the wind.

The ship itself cannot sail without the wind and struggles to sail into the wind. So it must rotate its sail in order to get a force exerted against it in the correct direction. If the ship has to sail into the wind it must "Zig Zag" in order to gain any speed.

When the user clicks an A* path finding algorithm is run in order to find the best route that the ship should take. The ship then tries to follow this path to the best of its ability.
