The Nintendo 64 Transfer Pak allowed players to transfer data from their Game Boy Pokemon cartridges into their Pokemon Stadium and Pokemon Stadium 2 N64 games. With the upcoming release of Pokemon Stadium on Nintendo Switch Online, there have been a lot of questions surrounding whether or not this Transfer Pak functionality would be retained. Considering the recent closure of the 3DS eShop and the high likelihood that Gen 1, Gen 2, and even Gen 3 Pokemon games will be released on the Nintendo Switch at some point, we analyze just what Nintendo's plans may be now and in the future.
