I'm not sure I made it clear, but a big part of the pacing in these games is the variation in your scheduling. It's not that you always have N things to do each morning: each morning varies a little bit in a predictable way. Rain means you don't have to water things. Harvests mean you'll spend extra time planting and reaping. Etc.
