Game Of Thrones Spinoff's Iron Throne Used Mind
House of the Dragon
House of the Dragon showrunner Miguel Sapochnik estimates the incredible number of swords used for the new Iron Throne on the Game of Thrones prequel. Based on George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, the highly-anticipated House of the Dragon series takes place during the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen, about 200 years before Game of Thrones. The prequel show will chronicle the events leading up to and during the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
24-Hour Party People's Paddy Considine leads the House of the Dragon cast as the "warm, kind, and decent" King Viserys Targaryen, the first of his name and the current occupant of the Iron Throne. The cast also features Wanderlust's Emma D'Arcy, Doctor Who's Matt Smith, Bates Motel's Olivia Cooke, Nurse Jackie's Eve Best, and The Amazing Spider-Man's Rhys Ifans. Despite also being set in Westeros and featuring many of the same locations as Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon constructed various new sets at Warner Bros. Leavesden Studios, including a Throne Room furnished with a new and improved Iron Throne.
