I just picked up some S-video cables for my GameCube from CastlemaniaGames.com, to tide me over until component cables are more readily available, and I wanted to see how they compare. Both run in 480i, and I find the interlacing is quite a drawback on the upscaler / capture card, as it results in a juttery image that flickers a bit. (Component cables will allow 480p.)

Verdict: definitely worth the $10 I paid for them! Compare the yellow text of "Wind Waker" on the title screen. Wow.
