Today we are looking at a great, simple wavform generator called bfxr. It's available both online at bfxr.net or available as a standalone app for Windows and Mac. Source code is available.

It comes with several generators for common game sound effects such as lasers, jumping, power ups, explosions etc. Then comes with the tools to mix, randomize and modify all aspects of the wav generation.
