This has got to be one of the stranger stories on the PS4 and PS5 I have covered but lets talk about how apparently Sony will now hear your conversations over voice chat if you get busted!

#PS4 #PS5 #Ps4Update

As part of update 8.00 Sony have announced that all party voice chats may be recorded and the internet is not having it, with angry tweets about invasion of privacy and consent.

The internet isn’t very good at reading the small print as, since launch, the PlayStation Network Terms of Service has included the following text:

Information we get can include your content, voice and text communications, gameplay videos, the time and location of your activities, your real name, your PSN Online ID and IP address.

By using the PSN you implicitly agree that your voice could be recorded, this is nothing new. What is new is that the 8.00 update shows the following message which seems to suggest your fellow players will now be able to report a voice chat to Sony who can listen back and see if there was anything unsavoury going on. Unfortunately as update 8.00 has completely screwed the friends list on the PSN we can’t check to see if that is the case.
