Our Spirit gathering slows down a bit in favor of all the side activities only to be found in the Games & More category! In here, all non-endless content must be done on a per-character basis, with each individual Classic Mode having its own twists and turns to experience! Starting with Mario as our obvious first pick in the roster, we now begin a wholly different game loop as we strive once again to complete it all!
For this part of Games & More focused around goal-oriented content, every video will be centered around a single character as we progress through the fighter list in sequence, and they'll all be structured the same. We'll first review our basics with a quick reading of the corresponding move list and loading tips, then we'll warm ourselves up with a mandatory Century Smash round, and finally we'll give our best shot with Classic Mode as the main event. And because we must capitalize on our now fully unlocked Vault Shop, we won't forget to stop there for a buying spree at regular intervals too! A lot of care has been put into making this content as enjoyable as possible, I hope you'll appreciate the effort!
Now, for the obligatory disclaimers. First of all, the goal with these showings of Classic Mode isn't to reach maximum intensity with everyone, but rather to see how far we can go with each fighter under the same set of conditions. We'll indeed always start at 5.0, and all runs will be done with a single life, no continues allowed. While that does set up the stage for a potential 9.9 run, I want to stress that it's not the main intent. Secondly, Classic Mode's reward screen doesn't allow listening to music we just obtained like in other modes. In order to make these unlocks feel more relevant, and also to avoid pointless extra segments at the end of videos, I took the liberty to edit in the usual 15 seconds audio preview directly on the reward screen, with a blinking arrow on the music icon to notify which track is currently playing, in case we ever get more than one per run. Finally, since it's our first time through the Games & More menus, the entire menu sequence to get to each mode is shown; it will be straight to the point in subsequent videos. The Help menus were excluded from that, as all the info is honestly a bit scattered around, and we'll look at these menus in more detail in future videos anyway.
If it's your first time here, you may notice that none of our Spirit rewards outside of the exclusive Fighter Spirits are labeled as "new", and that's because we already completed both World of Light (Adventure Mode), and the Spirit Board prior to this. If you feel like that's something that might interest you, here's the links to the appropriate playlists, for a full playthrough of each of those modes.
