Games are getting longer and longer, but is that a good thing? Especially when so many of them seem to offer rinse and repeat missions that can become very tedious very quickly. I'm not sure it is a good thing. Especially when these games encourage us to invest more and more time and more and more money in them.

I'm playing devil's advocate to some extent in this video, because there are open world games that I have played and enjoyed, but nevertheless, I do think we should be looking at whether games (and especially AAA games) are losing something by focusing on this model.
