Games Explained to Generation X - LambHoot
267In which I try my hand at doing something that someone more qualified should probably do next. In this video, games and gaming culture are explained to an anticipated audience of Generation X and above, specifically parents of gamers and those with very limited knowledge or understanding of games. A big part of this topic is the comparison of passive and active entertainment. I try to make the point that many of gaming’s benefits stem from that activeness.
The video is structured in three parts:
First, we aim to legitimize games.
Second, gaming culture is explained, benefits of the hobby are explored, and millennial hobbies are relativized by comparing them to gen x hobbies.
Third, assuming the viewer is now motivated to effect change, some tips and ideas are provided.
