The Vanishing of Ethan Cater. A narrative driven game that tells you from the word go that it will not hold your hand.....and it shows. This game doesn't tell you what to do at all. Every moment is figured out step by step and expects you to remember the rules of the game. Rules it doesn't tell you that exist until you are faced with them.

This wasn't a great game in my mind. It had too many twists and turns that didn't sync up, and when it finally does at the end, you realize it didn't matter at all.

There was a reason I stopped playing the last time I played this, but before today I forgot what that was. Now after playing and beating this game, I now know why. This game while visually beautiful doesn't play very well. I played Gone Home and What Remains of Edith Finch and they were great narrative games. The puzzles weren't too difficult, the stories made sense that were being told. But this, this threw new unknown things that didn't make sense at all. Only till the end does it do so, and then you don't care cause you feel like everything that happened didn't really matter.
