This video appeared briefly yesterday with a puzzle that could have been interpreted as an unfortunate symbol. This version shows roughly how Mark's solve went on a symbol-free version of the puzzle grid. Here are the URLs for today's 5 Genuinely Approachable Sudoku (GAS) puzzles:
GAS 216 – Small Samurai by Tyrgannus: https://app.crackingthecryptic.com/sudoku/GLFmHPbrmh
In each of the 5 4x4 grids, 1-4 must be placed in each row, column and 2x2 region. Digits along the between line must have values between those of the ends of the line. Digits joined by a black dot have a 1:2 ratio; digits joined by a white dot are consecutive. Not all dots are given. Digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the circle. Digits along a thermo must increase from the bulb.
GAS 217 – Slot Machine by Clover: https://tinyurl.com/mp9tvd6t
Normal sudoku rules apply. Each vertical strip has its digits in the same order. Digits wrap around when they reach the bottom of the grid.
GAS 218 – Thermo Sudoku by Sam Cappleman-Lynes: https://tinyurl.com/2p8swf26
Normal sudoku rules apply. Numbers on a thermometer must strictly increase, starting from the bulb.
GAS 219 – Ego by Philip Newman: https://tinyurl.com/2davrb6d
Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits in grey squares must be even.
GAS 220 – Arrow Quads by Clover: https://tinyurl.com/4sd2rth5
Digits along an arrow must sum to the value in the attached circle. Digits in a white circle must appear somewhere in the four cells surrounding that circle. Note that if a digit appears twice in a white circle, it must appear at least twice in the four surrounding cells.
