0You know what sucks? Spending multiple hours transversing the endless mode only to die to one of the increasingly unrealistic cultist stages, but thankfully there is an easier method.
By selecting the mage, buying The Hollow Chapter and the illusion ring and then pushing circle twice, then you can pretty much walk your way from level 1 to 50. With that being said, it is still a lot easier than it sounds.
While I've heard you can use a checkpoint and start as late as 37 and still get the trophy, you'll want to start at level 1 and redo those stages. This is because you'll be at level 37, but you'll only have one skull coin. By doing the earlier stages you could have as many as 13, vastly increasing your chance of success. Plus after level 37 you run into floors without items to buy and food is transformed into gold. It's a massive disadvantage and one you'll probably spend more time trying to compensate for than simply doing the earlier levels.
Besides that there really isn't much to it besides using the ring to summon copies to kill enemies (giving you skull coins), create a distraction or simply move the enemies. Do not use it against the cultists and remember that any barrier will fall after one (two if it glitches) death, so if you know you won't win the fight, just try to take as many with you (for points for a coin).
Finally, I briefly tested playing on an alt to see if they can jump from 1 to 19 to 37 to 55 and get the trophy, but it proved unsuccessful. Might need to do it online or perhaps it doesn't work. Can't confirm 100%, but consider this 99.99%.
