For the first mission it's best to keep an eye on your radar to check when the support fire is aimed as the best times to engage are when it's locked in place and your clear of it other than that just aim to take out the supports first and clean up at your own leisure.
Mission two can be a fair bit harder the enemy now has beam weapons and they can hit quite hard, take advantage of terrain, Pilot skills and the enemy ai to spread out enemies where you can and avoid damage and don't forget to use your ally as bait.
