Gears 5 Campaign Review
4Campaign Review of Gears 5. The story and character models were more subdued this time around focused on Kait this time around in contrast to the bulky testerone driven direction of the original trilogy. In the end it doesn't have much of an impact since Gears games are gameplay rather than story oriented. The jack abilities, new weapons and player initiated combat are welcome additions. I found the open world segments a poor replacement for the vehicular segments from the previous games since the world is empty while traversing. Mostly benign since the on rails or otherwise linear segments of prior vehicular segments were the weaker parts though it artificially lengthens how long the campaign takes to play. Also the combo coop 3 player split screen and online in any combination is great!
