The Gears fanbase seems split on the actual game, but something that I think both sides should agree on is that the microtransactions are not just abysmal and horrendous, but some of the worst in the entire industry! I have never seen a game on console abuse its fanbase this much with prices that makes Activision and EA look like a charity, and yet some people still defend this game. With its defenders, and the developers and critics calling fans toxic just because they have complaints, I'm not happy with this game, and here's an in-depth look into its awful store!

Here in gears 5, not only is the tour of duty, which is essentially a battle pass system , terribly grindy with awful daily challenges, but literally almost every single reward is complete crap. And the only skins you get, like I’ve previously mentioned in my gears 5 review, are character skins from the campaign, like snow and desert camo del and Kait. These should be in game rewards, for beating those sections of the game, and for god’s sake, we should at least have the characters from the campaign, be available as versus characters at launch. That’s something that every gears game has done until now, Their excuse, is that adding characters takes a lot longer, due to making abilities for them, but I don’t know a single fan, that enjoys this stupid link between playing and looking how you want, but even then, they could at least add these skins to versus mode, or what about the swarm, why don’t we have more swarm and locust characters, since they aren’t playable in horde, that should mean that its easy to make skins for that faction, yet the roster on their end is just as terrible.
, before we finally get fan favorites, like delta squad, the onyx guard, armored kantus, and more added back. I’m 99% sure , the coalition has removed a good amount of content from the game, that they’ve already finished, so they can drip feed it to us, and try and artificially extend this game’s lifespan, instead of making content, that people actually care about. I always knew things like emotes and skins would be in supply drops, or something of that nature, but now its damn near impossible, to even unlock these, when we have tons of blood splatters, marking symbols, banners, and overall just a shit load, of useless crap, that no one outside of the coalition, actually cares about in the loot pool.
