Team Composition
- I recommend having an experienced level 7 or higher scout and Engineer with level 5 skills. Heads Down Horde is definitely not the place you want to being training in a new Scout or Engineer.

o Scout build - your scout build should focus on gather power during combat because it doubles your teams power pickup. The waves in Heads Down Horde can end abruptly so your scout needs to be gathering as much power in combat as possible
 deposit bonus (lvl 5) – absolute MUST because increase your power on deposit by 50% (whether you pick it up during combat or after)

 Health boost
 Pickup Radius
 health regen boost
 Energize (or speed) – power will be close to the bas

o Engineer.
 repair boost (lvl 5) – about solute must because it cost 50% less power and repairs much faster
 Barrier health – your barriers are going to take a pounding from all the salvos getting launched at you and your team.
 Turret discount
 Sentry discount
 Sentry capacity – with all the pouncers, DR’s , and guardians, your sentries will be shooting constantly (and they’ll need to) - having sentry capacity will allow them to keep shooting and give you some margin on your repair circuit.

Rest of the Team -team composition
- Salvo Buffet (heavies are preferred unless a soldier has hammer of dawn)
o Heavy with – heavy weapon damage, explosive launcher damage, and explosive launcher capacity.
 Heavy weapon damage
 Explosive launcher damage – which effects the salvo
 Explosive launcher capacity – which also applies to the salvo (at level 5 – 32 rounds vs 16)
 Turret Damage
 Mark Damage
- Note – the Mortar Strike does work on the SwarMak but is useless on the kelstral (there are only 2 bosses in heads down horde – kestrel and SwarmMak)
- Note - Consider Team revive


Base Location
- Set-up in the spawn where you start the game – I’ve played in both spawns and the starting spawn is night and day easier.

Base Building Tips

Tip 1 -Stay fairly spread out in the base so one Salvo or SwarMak rocket barrage doesn’t wipe the whole team out.
o This means spreading out your turrets and weapon lockers

Tip 2 - If you don’t have barrier health build them in an X pattern – which effectively doubles their strength – the last thing you want in Heads Down Horde is to have your barriers go done.

Tip 3 - If you place your sentries right next to the wall you can refill them from cover on either side

Tip 4 – build a few shock sentry to slow down the rush – not only will they slow down the rush but they will also help take down the shileds of the sentinals quicker

o Don’t set them too far out or they’ll slow down the rounds

Tip 5 – If someone goes down and you’re picking them up – call it out so you don’t have 2 or 3 people rushing to pick up one person instead of shooting – again

o Tip – if I’m playing public and nobody’s talking I’ll wait a few seconds and then check my tacCom first to see if some else is getting them up.

- Tip 6 - Build a sentry or two covering the right side building and facing the ocean – both guardians and kestrel will fly in that area

- Tip 7 - Salvos will annihilate the SwarMak so store them up for the boss wave
