GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition Review & Benchmark | Redefining Value
655Nvidia has finally launched the GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, powered by their Ampere graphics architecture. In Nvidia's official promotions for the card, they state that the RTX 3070 can equal the previous generation Turing flagship, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, and do so at only $499 USD.
So in this review, we benchmark the RTX 3070 card against its biggest GeForce brother, the RTX 3080, the RTX 2080 Ti, the GTX 1080 and AMD's RDNA 1 card. These benchmarks include RTX on (hardware-based ray tracing) and DLSS, 1440P and 4K results.
Games and applications tested include - Doom Eternal, Port Ray, Super Position, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Control, Death Stranding, Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus, MineCraft RTX, Quake 2 RTX, Wolfenstein Young Blood, Borderlands 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Gears 5 and Gears Tactics.
The results of the RTX 3070 are indeed impressive, and seems to match perfectly Nvidia's claims for the card, putting in almost equal results against the RTX 2080 Ti. Both cards are handily outperformed by the $200 USD dollar more expensive GeForce RTX 3080.
