You'll face an array of cunning monsters—skeletal warriors, gas-trap plants, demons—and can loot corpses, chests, and coffins for arrows, magical bolts, and useful items. These magic tools include goblets (health restore), crystal balls (screen-clearing blasts), and oddities like illusion spells, invisibility, or freezing—all tricky and risky to use. Strategic pausing, mapping, and saving are essential to survive its labyrinthine depths.
Notably, the C64 title screen plays a haunting variation of J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Prelude in D Minor (BWV 851), setting a chilling mood before you even begin.
