I cannot wait until the next Archon Quest. I think it's going to conclude the main issues of Fontaine, and we can finally see Furina's and Arlecchino's endgame. Both are obviously hiding many things for different reasons, and I especially want to know if Arlecchino is really a good person or is just as foul as Dottore.

But I also want to take this time to summarize my thought in Arlecchino while it's still fresh. Since she is my most anticipated person to get as a playable character in the game, I've been putting a lot of thought on whether or not I like her character. I personally am not a big fan of antagonist, and so when I first saw Arlecchino was a Harbinger, I really hoped that she would give me reason to like her despite being a bad guy. I think Genshin did a fantastic job with Childe and Wanderer, so I have been looking forward to see how they handle Arlecchino. Childe, while a bad guy who tried to kill the Traveler and destroy Liyue, I felt like he was used as a pawn for the Geo gnosis. He didn't really have intentions to cause trouble and only wanted to get his mission done. Childe's appearance in his Story Quest, some event quest, with Yoimiya, and the latest Archon Quest have showed me that he is not really a bad guy at all. He really do be chilling, which does make me feel bad for him for getting caught up in a lot of weird situations. As for the Wanderer, he was a crazy bad person, but he got a full redemption arc, which I thought was very well done. After discovering the truth about his past, it seems like he has no intentions in doing bad things anymore, and that he was just influenced to do bad things in the first place.

From what I've gathered from Arlecchino so far, she does have some high positives but also some low negatives in my opinion. To start with the positive side, it seems like Arlecchino has not caused any trouble to us in Fontaine, and that in fact, she doesn't have any bad intentions at all (as far as we can see). Actively trying to stop the prophecy from happening, she is willing to assemble a crew of investigators (House of Hearth kids), seek an audience with Furina, and seek an audience with Worcestershire. While her tactics may be extreme and rule breaking, it has been for the purpose if saving Fontaine as well as retrieving the gnosis. Trying to take the gnosis, while it looks bad, I'm not going to say makes the character bad. The Harbingers are just following directions of the Tsarpizza, and they benefit a lot from helping her. And also, while I assume very, very bad things will happen when the Tsarpizza has all the gnosis, I don't really know if it's for evil. Who knows, maybe Tsarpizza plans to use the gnoses to end the Abyss.

Another good thing about Arlecchino is her cooperative nature. It seems like she really does want to work together with people, and is willing to go out of her way to protect some. She has a tight relationship with the House of Hearth kids, who genuinely seem like they appreciate it. She is willing to work with us too, saying that she looks forward for us to work together.

That being said, there are two major points about Arlecchino that I'm not a fan of. First is her relationship with Childe. I know that none of the Harbingers have a good relationship with each other. From what we have seen so far, the Harbingers have no hesitation to betray each other if it means they can complete their goals. Arlecchino seems no different because of her lack of care for Childe. She used the Childe situation to further her own goals, and doesn't care at all what has happened to him. While this is normal for a Harbinger, Arlecchino presents herself as a caring person, so her indifference to Childe is strange to me. I get a sense that these are her true feelings, which makes me question her loyalty to others like the House of Hearth kids and us.

Finally, I'm not a big fan of how she treated Furina. I understand that it is Arlecchino's goal to figure out if Furina had the gnosis and if the Hydro Archon is actually powerful. Thus, assaulting Furina would be a good way to sus her out. But after seeing what happened to Furina after she was assaulted, I felt really bad for her. Her begging for mercy and crying alone in her bed made me dislike Arlecchino's assault. While it might seem like an overreaction from someone who is supposedly the strongest person in Fontaine, it is not the victims fault that she felt bad right? While it wasn't as bad as what Dottore did to Collei, since Arlecchino didn't push on and Furina has a more life experiences, I still got similar vibes. The assault was a good reminder that Arlechinno is still Fatui, so she is capable and willing to do terrible things. Not very cool from Arlecchino, so I'm hoping that she can mend the relationship between her and Furina.

Verdict on Arlecchino so far: Need to see more.
