Genshin Impact playthrough Japanese voice over Part 01 The game is awesome!
I must be honest that I learned about this game by a total coincidence. I have also never heard of any of the previous titles by miHoYo. Thanks to that, however, I had no expectations or prejudice when launchin Genshin Impact for the first time. I only had a vague idea of the game because I saw my wife playing it, and that was all. I also had read that the game is free to play (so it's fine to extend my pile of shame, a free title doesn't count, right?) and has a Zelda Breath of the Wild touch to it, with lots of exploration.
After the firts two hours in the game, I must admit that for a free game, it is awesome. It has been a very generous F2P title so far, it does not hit you with its paywall right away (LotR Online, I'm looking at you). It has a neat single player campaign, fun elements of exploration (real exploration, not just "question mark clearing"), Japanese voice-over (for me it's a must), combat system of medium complexity (the game does not overwhelm you with its extensive tutorials, like for example Xenoblade Chronicles). So, in my opinion, you should definitely try this game IF:
- you do not expect a masterpiece in all aspects,
- you stop comparing this game to BotW,
- you are looking for a mixture of BotW graphics with the general feel of games like Tales of Zestiria/Berseria but with a simplified combat system,
- you don't mind the fact that the paywall is there somewhere (or maybe not, who knows)
- you like endless upgrades/levelsup, etc. like in mobile games.
After two hours, I am definitely into this game. The might be pretty well-written and interesting!
