Genshin Impact STILL doesn't have mouse Y axis invert - version 3.4, February 2023
Just taking you through the menu options so that you can see for yourself (without having to download the game) that mouse Y axis invert still isn't added - 30 months and several patches after release! Needless to say, don't waste your time with this garbage game until Mihoyo stop discriminating against inverters.
Answers to questions I know I will get:
Yes I have emailed Mihoyo about it. They gave me a generic reply back saying "We shall be forwarding your concern as a suggestion to the appropriate department so this can be reviewed for future updates in the game." That was ... in 2020. Hopeless!
Yes I am aware that there are ways around this using third party driver hacks etc... but I don't want to break Genshin's EULA.
Do people really invert the mouse Y axis? Yes they do, it's exceptionally common, polls vary but on average it's about 30% of gamers who invert controls, given that there are about two billion gamers in the world this means that there would be approximately 600 million inverters.
Why would someone want to invert controls? Because it's actually the correct way of mentally conceptualising a 3D space.
Isn't inversion morally wrong/are you sick/are you a monster etc. Actually ALL gamers should at least try 3D games with inverted controls. The reason why is that flight controls in planes are inverted. An Air France flight actually crashed because the pilot, clearly not an inverter, forgot his training and reverted to his basic non-inverter human instinct in an emergency, pulling back on the control stick while the plane was stalling. Many lives were lost in that incident due to his action. You never know when you might be required to take the control of a passenger jet and guide it to safety in an emergency. Inversion saves lives.
