Geometry Dash 2.2 - 1-8 Any% in 11:49.11 (Former World Record)
62.2 got ANOTHER hotfix which added a new option called "Fast Menus" that essentially makes the menu transition time 0 seconds, and also fixed a notorious bug "menu lock" which forced you to wait until the menu had loaded in before entering a level (if you didnt the game would freeze the menu and not let you enter the level)
For classic runs, this basically shatters everything as the main bottleneck the game revolved around for speedruns is now almost completely gone. Instead of waiting for the correct moments to exit and enter levels, now all you need to do is exit the level at the first possible moment and then enter the next as fast as possible. No world record is safe now, as I think I've now demonstrated by breaking the 11:50 barrier in this category by almost a whole second, which was completely out of reach in 2.1.
This run is not even close to perfect, but it was a big improvement over my first 11:49 where I hesitated a lot on menus due to past menu locking experiences (PTSD lol). I suspect the best possible menu times are in the 3.5-3.6 second range. I would have had a pretty good chance of getting an 11:48 in this run if I didn't have a relatively bad menu from Can't Let Go to Base After Base (but it still ended up being faster than my first one lol)
Unsure if I will go further with this category. If I do it'll be more for improving my consistency at fast menus more than trying for world record. It's only day 1 and I am sure it's possible to get super consistent at these fast menus.
