Before asking why this is a cancerous level, please look at the time spent between each stage. I beat stage 1-13 in around 10 minutes, but spent 14 minutes spending stage 14 and another 10 minutes beating stage 15. The difficulty spike was impossible to foresee. Players who are worse at the game will believe they have a fighting chance until they reach stage 14. The level is harder than Dark Passage, which is why I think it should be Insane Demon.

I doubt that I'm the only one who's felt a discrepancy between a level's rating and its actual difficulty. Every level rated today (after 2.2 came out), has been 1-2 stars or moons below what they should be; a lot of Demons (mostly platformers) are rated a difficulty below what they should be.

The most popular argument I've seen for the low ratings (mostly coming from people with 20 Hard Demons and 3 Insane Demons), is that the time spent on these levels are much lower than time spent on "normal" Demons - meaning they should be lower difficulty. I disagree completely. An Extreme Demon usually takes more than 3-4 hours to beat. Even Extreme Demons that are borderline Insane Demons (usually) won't take me less than an hour to beat. In other words, people expect you to sit in a single level for over 4 hours for it to be Extreme Demon. It's an absurd amount of time.

What I'm actually saying is that "normal" Extreme Demons do not equal platformer Extreme Demons. The standard shouldn't be that a player needs to spend countless hours in a single level, because you literally cannot exit the level without starting over.

As said, when it comes to easier levels, their ratings are also off by a margin. Look at recently rated levels' comments and you'll likely see that one of the comments on the first page is a "how is this rated [star/moon rating] stars/moons?" comment. Even quality of the levels nowadays have fallen a lot. Less effort is needed when it comes to these platformer levels so people make the most terrible shit. RobTop's rating standard has fallen since the start of 2.2, so every crappy level is being rated.

I could go on and talk about the abuse of triggers like the camera trigger, but I won't. The song is edited in again, as I can't listen to the same section of a song repeatedly for 30 minutes.
