Randomly beat this while playing on @WhirligigStudios‘s laptop while visiting (which is why I can’t make a thumbnail, have no stats, and why there’s a slight audio desync). Easy Nine Circles level that I kinda wish for a little more love these days. It was honestly really fun to beat, but the second half is way too easy compared to the wave. A redeco version of this with some slight buffs would be nice to see (and maybe an extension too). Ah, I can dream.
Two things I like about this level.
1. I really love lightning effect done in the cube sections of the level. It’s simple but it fits the level perfectly.
2. At the wave, instead of the NC effect being a standard orange and yellow wave, it incorporates a little bit of green into it. I find it to be an interesting colour choice, and it just makes it so much more distinct than just restricting it to just orange/yellow.
If I ever had the chance to do a modern redesign of this, those are the two most important things I’d preserve, because it gives the level a lot of flavour and depth instead of it just being yet another old-timey Nine Circles level.
Played on 360 FPS (or at least, tried to).
