Hello, this is the Classic Sports Videogames. It’s a channel that will remember great videogames and also fantastic teams in history. Today’s match is Germany vs Spain.

In 2010, Germany played a surprising football, beating England and Argentina in knockout phases with an 8-1 in aggregate score. The loss in semifinals to Spain was heartbreaking, but four years later, in 2014, Germany would celebrate its fourth World Cup, after winning in 1954, 1974 and 1990.

Lukas Podolski and Thomas Müller scored five goals each to share Germany top scorer spot, and these two, aside Bastian Schweinsteiger, assisted four more german goals. Podolski also shared most appearances in 2009/10 with Mesut Özil and Sami Khedira.

After a loss against Switzerland, six wins in a row, including four 1-0 victories from round of 16 to final match in Soccer City gave Spain their first World Cup in history, beating Netherlands in overtime.

David Villa and Xavi Hernández led Spain’s appearances with 14. These players also led “La Furia” in goals (10) and assists (4), respectively.

Spain beat Germany 2-0 in Euro 2008 final to win first of three major tournaments trophies. Then, they won again Germany in semifinal at Durban. The spanish team also won the Euro 2012.

Confederations Cup is a adapted tournament which brings together the eight world champions – Brazil, Italy, Germany, Uruguay, Argentina, France, England and Spain – and South Africa, hosting country. All national teams plays each other and, after nine matchdays, the top four advances to semifinals.
