Getting C&C Generals & Zero Hour working on modern PCs

I decided to create and upload this video to help you get your copy of Generals, original and Zero Hour, working for your PC in case you have any problems starting the games. If your system is 32 bit, or 64 bit but with less than 4GB of system RAM, you should be ok. But if you start it and get a cryptic message saying no memory available, or it simply doesn't start, these initial steps may help.

Before we begin, I forgot to mention this at the start of the video, but for it to stand any chance of running, the original Generals needs to be updated to version 1.8 or later, and Zero Hour updated to version 1.04 or later. If you have "The First Decade" or "Ultimate" editions then your versions are already updated and you're good to go with this video.

If, for any reason you can't see the text to copy in the options.ini stage, you need to copy this text into your options.ini files for both Generals and Zero Hour, this options.ini text will work for BOTH games:

Make sure you change the resolution to match your TV/monitor.
