Note: I was deliberately vague on details about the crafting portion of this achievement, and also only mentioned specifics on the gathering side because the routes change with each iteration and season. This was recorded during patch 5.35 for the third phase of Ishgard.


For those unfamiliar, the Pteranodon mount is obtained by getting 500,000 skybuilder points in every single crafter and gatherer in the game, therefore getting the Divine Provider (Landking of the world) and Hand of Creation (Handking of the World) achievements, giving you Castle in the Sky Achievement which in turn gives this mount.


Even under the Aesthetes + grade 2 sweet spot of patch 5.3-5.31, it still took me 12-15 hours per crafter to hit 500k points. The overall gathering takes at LEAST 80 hours for Miner and Botanist each, not even counting fishing. Altogether, we're looking at a time investment of over 400+ hours for this mount alone and that is nuts.


If you are mad enough to go for this mount then I sincerely hope you're doing so in 6.0+, past the Shadowbringers expansion and able to just cruise through the crafter portion via Trained Eye. I also don't know by how much the DoL section will be nerfed but hope it is, lmao.
