Ghetto Tech Power Outage Survival
The power went out and the local nuclear plant sent out a warning. What the heck?
Anyways there is a thick layer of ice over all the things outside. Last night was a lot of fun though! If anyone has kids, they can tell you the kids love to hide things from you. And they hid all of my flash lights from me! Lucky that I knew the storm was coming, and I got my old cellphones ready. I have way too many old cellphones that have issues.
An alert about an incident at the Pickering nuclear power plant was sent in error to millions of people’s cellphones in Ontario early Sunday morning.
The warning, sent at about 7:30 a.m., was wrongly circulated by the Ontario government’s Provincial Emergency Operations Centre, officials said.
“I’ve been in contact with the Provincial Emergency Operations centre. The alert was sent in error,” said John Hagg, the fire chief for Pickering.
The premier’s office also confirmed the mistake.
“There is no safety incident and there is no danger to the public. The emergency alert was triggered in error,” said Ivana Yelich, a spokeswoman for Premier Doug Ford.
Pickering is located just east of Toronto.
