Review Summary:
Grade B+
Unnatural new comedic cast members feel out of place in Section 9....and the show, however their acting is good, and they do bring back the lost feel of the joking orientated writing that was present in the books which is consistently removed in all animated forms.
Sound Design: A+ Everything sounds unique even old sounds seem to have gone threw a remaster of sorts.
Music:..... B- Practically non-existent the good tracks blend into the background and the the intro is the only true out of place song track wise, the ost is SMALL don't expect a SAC style aesthetic.
Animation: B+ The era of 3d animation held back by needlessly lower FPS are long gone, this title runs smooth however clothing and hair rarely has any life or realism applied to it, they willfully keep most if not all S01 hair short so they wouldn't even have to try, is a real shame that alot of cloth like materials are stiff but the ppl MOVE LIKE PPL which is remarkable.
Graphics/FX: B Look idk why but they just cant stay consistent, some B.G. are full renders even if the characters don't interact with them whilst in other settings it looks like I'm staring at a picture that the models were inserted into via Photoshop, it pulls me out of the show and has me asking questions about the environment budget, it feels like this was a design choice not a $ limit and I don't think the designers realize how weird it feels to the watcher.
