In July 2021, Sucker Punch announced a Director's Cut of the game for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The new version includes an expansion in which Jin visits Iki Island, and the PlayStation 5 includes exclusive features such as full Japanese lip sync, haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, 3D audio support, dynamic 4K resolution and improved loading times. The Director's Cut was released on August 20, 2021.
