0This is my playthrough for the Ghost of Tsushima. Starting off with the opening scenes and the war that we lose. But rise from the ashes we will and reign in this game.
The story of Ghost of Tsushima begins with Jin Sakai, a samurai serving his uncle, Lord Shimura, as they prepare to defend Tsushima against a massive Mongol invasion led by Khotun Khan. The opening battle serves as both a tutorial and an introduction to the game's themes—honor versus survival. Despite their efforts, Jin and Lord Shimura are defeated, with Shimura taken captive while Jin is left for dead.
Jin awakens near a Mongol-occupied village and must recover his sword and armor while avoiding detection. He meets Yuna, a thief who saved his life, and she helps him navigate the village undetected. Through stealth mechanics and looting tutorials, Jin eventually retrieves his sword, triggering a flashback to his training with Lord Shimura, where he learns the importance of discipline and combat techniques like parrying and using resolve.
Returning to the present, Jin defeats his first Mongol enemy and escapes with Yuna. She reveals that her brother, Taka, has been taken by the Mongols, but Jin prioritizes rescuing his uncle first. They fight through enemy forces and reach a stable, where Jin selects a horse and names it. With his companion and mount secured, Jin and Yuna set off for Castle Kaneda to save Lord Shimura, setting the stage for the larger conflict ahead.
