Jin, a skilled samurai, reunites with Yuna, a resourceful and determined ally, in the bustling town of Azamo. As they meet, Yuna is engrossed in a discussion with Kenji, an old friend of hers and a sake brewer, along with her brother Taka. The trio's conversation revolves around a risky plan to rescue Taka, who is not only Yuna's brother but also the most talented blacksmith in all of Tsushima.
Kenji, although afraid that their audacious plan may fail, finds his doubts assuaged by Jin's persuasive words. He reveals that he has been secretly delivering sake to the Mongols at Azamo Bay since their invasion. This revelation sparks an idea in Jin's mind. He proposes that he disguises himself and hides in Kenji's sake cart to infiltrate Azamo Bay and save Taka.
Fully aware of the Mongols' merciless nature and their penchant for executing hostages at the slightest sign of resistance, Yuna stresses the importance of remaining stealthy and avoiding detection during their mission. They aim to enter Azamo Bay silently, evading any soldiers who could trigger an alarm. Once inside, the trio ascends to a rooftop to survey the area, hoping to gather information on Taka's whereabouts.
Their keen observation leads them to a slaver inspecting prisoners. They decide to tail him, hoping he will lead them to Taka. As they discreetly follow the slaver through enemy territory, they overhear a conversation he has with a peasant who happens to be a blacksmith as well. They learn that Taka has been intentionally producing subpar work, which has caught the slaver's attention. The slaver plans to replace Taka with the peasant's work instead.
Driven by a sense of urgency, Jin and Yuna must reach Taka before the slaver does. They continue tailing him until he reaches Taka's location. Yuna takes decisive action, eliminating the slaver. However, Taka appears hesitant to leave, fearful of the consequences. Jin employs his persuasive skills once again, convincing Taka that escaping with them is the best course of action.
To leave Azamo Bay undetected, the group devises a plan to rendezvous with Kenji at a nearby crossroads. However, their escape is complicated by the presence of Mongol horsemen. Jin and Yuna decide to engage the enemy, overpowering them and commandeering their horses. The stolen horses provide a means to swiftly leave Azamo Bay behind.
As they journey towards Archer's Rise, a vantage point overlooking Komatsu Forge, the group recognizes the strategic importance of the forge. Knowing that Taka's expertise is crucial for creating a tool to scale the walls of Castle Kaneda and rescue Jin's captured uncle, they make a plan to retake Komatsu Forge from the Mongols.
With Taka safely back in their company, Yuna expresses her relief and they collectively agree to rest before finding a secure location to lay low and strategize their imminent assault on the Mongols. Their shared objective is to liberate Komatsu Forge and strike a decisive blow against the enemy, rekindling hope in the hearts of the people of Tsushima.
