Ghost of Tsushima - The Sensei and the Student
Ghost of Tsushima - The Sensei and the Student
Jin and Sensei Ishikawa arrived at the tower near Castle Lookout Hot Spring, following rumors of Mongol archers training in the area. From a distance, they observed a target, which piqued their curiosity. Ishikawa, aware of the potential danger, instructed Jin to investigate further while he observed from afar.
As Jin approached the tower, he found himself suddenly ambushed by a group of Mongols and their vigilant guard dog. Reacting swiftly, Jin fought with unparalleled skill and dispatched his adversaries, relying solely on his own abilities without any assistance from Ishikawa. The clash between them revealed Jin's unyielding determination and formidable combat prowess.
The victory, however, gave rise to a heated argument between Jin and Ishikawa. Jin, feeling betrayed, confronted the sensei, realizing that Ishikawa had known about the Mongols' presence in the tower but intentionally withheld assistance. Ishikawa defended his actions by labeling it as a training exercise, asserting that if Jin couldn't handle the Mongols on his own, he wouldn't stand a chance against Tomoe, the skilled archer they were pursuing.
Continuing their pursuit, Jin and Ishikawa tracked footprints leading to a nearby house. It became apparent that the Mongols had taken captives, prompting Jin to take immediate action. With a display of unmatched skill and determination, he swiftly eliminated the Mongol forces and freed the prisoners, hoping to gather information about the whereabouts of Tomoe.
Witnessing Jin's unique combat style, a departure from both Ishikawa's traditional teachings and Lord Shimura's strict code, the sensei grew increasingly hesitant about continuing Jin's training. He expressed his concerns, fearing that he might be molding yet another monster driven by vengeance and devoid of honor. Sensing Ishikawa's hesitation, Jin assured him that he would not succumb to darkness, vowing to maintain his humanity despite the harsh realities of war.
The exchange between Jin and Ishikawa highlighted the clash between tradition and adaptability, as well as the internal struggle Jin faced as he strived to find a balance between duty and personal morality.
