The 1984 original Ghostbuster film became the highest-grossing comedy until “Home Alone” arrived in 1990. The remarkable cast of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson made their mark as the original ghostbusters with the first film and its 1989 sequel. There was an animated TV series called “The Real Ghostbusters” released between 1986 and 1991, which popularised the franchise even further. Although the 2016 remake didn’t land well with new viewers and old fans, the 2021 sequel to the film reignited the love for Ghostbusters. It featured the original ghostbusters while paying a posthumous tribute to the late Harold Ramis. However, the 2024 “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” yet again dragged the franchise down when a certain selfish character frustrated the fans.
