CHALLENGE: Clear Level 1 without using the checkpoint.
Ghosts N' Goblins is a famously difficult game for the NES and Famicom, so famous that it was one of the games that defined the term "Nintendo Hard". This challenge is just to beat the first level, but the player character dies in two hits no matter what and there's no way to restore health. (Those things that look like replacement suits of armor are actually just statues worth bonus points.)
The Red Arremer demon appears to be Draco's folly as he's able to smoothly take it out with proper technique a couple of times but starts to struggle with it after that. Following the checkpoint area there are enemies whose placement and movement is random and avoiding them is near impossible. Draco makes it to the boss while "scouting" the stage, but ultimately cannot beat him.
RESULT: FAIL
