GhostWire: Tokyo is the new game from the legendary Shinji Mikami, announced at the Bethesda conference at E3 2019.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is an action adventure game that takes players to modern-day Tokyo and lets them face the hordes of yokai, or ghosts, from Japanese folklore. It was developed by Tango Gameworks studio and supervised by Shinji Mikami - the "father" of Resident Evil series.

The action of Ghostwire: Tokyo takes place in the alternative version of Japan's capital city. As a result of a mysterious occult event, the majority (99% to be precise) of the city's population has disappeared. As if that wasn't enough, ghosts (called Visitors) started wandering the streets in search of victims and members of a mysterious group, who hide their identity behind traditional Hannya masks. The player, on the other hand, plays the role of the hero, who was one of the few to survive the catastrophe and has been endowed with supernatural abilities. From now on his task is not only to face the hordes of yokai, but also to solve the mystery behind these events.

In Ghostwire: Tokyo the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). Wandering around the Japanese capital, we mainly fight with enemies. Each opponent has a unique set of moves and attacks, as well as an individual weak point; working out the former and discovering the latter is the key to victory. Among the adversaries we can find such ghosts as Amewarashi (an entity taking the form of a small child in a yellow raincoat, able to summon other ghosts for help), Shiromuku (looking like a bride in a traditional white kimono) or Kuchisake (inspired by urban legends, a strong and agile opponent equipped with long scissors). We fight them, making use of the protagonist's supernatural combat abilities, the range of which we expand as we progress.

Ghostwire: Tokyo features high-quality graphics; the same goes for the sound layer. In addition, the PlayStation 5 version takes advantage of the capabilities offered by the haptic vibrations of the DualSense controller.
