GI Joe Arcade
5Welcome to another 20p Challenge!
This week it's Konami's G.I. Joe, and American hero, I guess the U.K. equivariant was action man but with less pizazz :D
Anyway, G.I. Joe likes to kick ass, and in this game, it mixes a few gaming styles yet still somehow retains that Konami feel for that era of gaming.
It borrows elements from Operation thunderbolt, crossed with Cabal and dare I say it, a bit of Space Harrier.
This game has you running and gunning towards nicely scaled enemies, who want nothing but little G.I. Joe chunks to have on their breakfast.
It is fast-paced and later on, the gameplay gets frantic, the music is so G.I. Joe, very self-confident in its style and I really had a blast playing this.
Still feels fresh and nowhere near as repetitive as say the Terminator arcade.
