Gimp Lasso Tool Using Free Select Tool (Lasso Tool) To cut out the graphic you want(CC)
Bird is The Word "Surfin' Bird" - The Trashman

Select Lasso Tool, start tracing the outer edges
click & repeat until you have entire graphic you want.
bring it all the way around to the 1st mark you started with
and click it to close the lasso, copy & paste as new image.
Use the slider tools while lasso is engaged to move to the next part of the graphic
just move the mouse back to the next part you want to add to the cut & continue.
