Time Line

01:42 Part 2:Just the mame.exe & mameui.exe update, not recommended but if it breaks something redo the "Full Update" & if that don't fix it do a clean install, but before just rename your Mame folder to Mame1 and drag all needed files to your new Mame folder

I rename the mame.exe to the versions of mame as I usually have about 10 or better Mame's at once to check when something gets broke & revert to using the version of mame it worked in. The renaming isn't needed if you only use one version of mame all the time.

If you only use the arcade side of Mame, then you don't need the hash as that's the updated software lists or Mess.

you can update mame or mameui in either order or only install only one of them as they use the same files but mameui has a couple more than mame
