Having defeated our first boss it's time to extract the gland and return it to the big guy in the center who eagerly awaits it, but will we fight our way through the transformed world or will we adopt the run through strat concerned that if we die with this we might have to do this whole thing all over again? I guess we run for it for safety just in case because this is a hard game right I wouldn't rule out them making us battle the boss again for this lol (thankfully they don't)
