GLF OS BETA Available! Linux Gaming Made Easy!!
Development of the new version of GLF OS is complete, and the results have exceeded all our expectations. Indeed, in addition to achieving all the objectives set at the project's launch, our team has gone well beyond its initial roadmap.
Although we're still calling it a "BETA" version due to a lack of perspective, it's fully functional. And we eagerly await your feedback!
This success is the result of incredible teamwork, which together have transformed GLF OS from an ambitious project to one that's well on its way to achieving its goal of becoming the most accessible distribution for beginners and anyone looking to switch from Windows to Linux.
New features include:
New experiences: Mini, Studio & Studio Pro, all also available under KDE.
Expanded racing wheel compatibility: Support for Thrustmaster, Fanatec, and Logitech. - Improved gaming experience: Added Oversteer and the Mangohud Presets tool
Improved performance and stability: Upgrade to the GLF OS kernel (Vanilla Nix + Cachy improvements).
Support for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and 8bitdo controllers
User experience improvements: Update notifications improved, numeric keypad now working from GDM, new wallpapers on Grub, and an automatic cleanup tool.
Minor fixes: The Windows-Linux bug has been fixed.
With this release, we're reaching a major milestone, and we're incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together. Every line of code, every test, every idea has contributed to making GLF OS what it is today: an operating system designed by enthusiasts, built for the migration from Windows to Linux.
Get ready, because the GLF OS adventure is just beginning, and the best is yet to come!
A huge thank you to each and every one of you. And a special shout-out to the core team: Cammi, Sebanc, T13nou, Piaf Jaune, Didic, Ange des Ténebres, Skythrew, A1RM4X, agadabadoglar, Davius (the panda), Fez, keevgoth, mika, hunabku, STEvE, Choub, XxdjjulianoxX, and Zorbaloo.
