Been working on this since yesterday (which for those in the future is 2/10/2022). Basically i wanted to make sort of a sandbox for me to derp around with a Mario Kart Esc game engine. Of course if i actually complete this, it won't be completely like Mario Kart since as you can see from the video. It's played from a top down perspective. I know that Mode 7 stuff is possible in GMS but that is WAAAAY too advanced for my current beginner skillset. Idk if i will finish this since it's kinda a huge undertaking. But i think it would be fun to try. I've always loved the Mario Kart series and making my own sort of spin on it is the dream for me. It's pretty barebones right now but i might try to add stuff like drifting and items. CPU's i'm worried about since that seems really hard to program. But there are probably some good youtube tutorials on it. If i can't however, i might settle for making it a sort of arcadey "beat all laps before the time expires" sort of deal with a 2-Player VS mode. I'm really proud of this so far. I've never coded anything this in depth before. So i'm really happy to share it with people!
