I know that I have shield. Where I flick shield, you can just release target and retarget, then dry roll. You can also just mash chu to instantly drop it from Link's hands. It's all the same =)
Just run up into the right hand corner, target. Sidehop left, flick shield, and dry-roll. You should notice link nudges past the entrance of his house. That's a good setup. Instantly drop your death chu.

I really didn't like the other strat that everyone else uses. It involved cooking the chu a little bit. Only thing about this strat is that you use 3 chus first, for 1 1/2 heart damage. The other strat uses 2 chus first for 1 heart.

You can't use 3 chu's after dropping your death chu with this strat, the third chu would interfere with the trail your death chu takes up near the ladder.
